Gregor the Overlander
by Suzanne Collins
Guest review by T. Bray age 12
Gregor the Overlander is the first book in a series written by the same author that wrote the Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins. It is about a boy whose name is Gregor and his sister, Boots (or Margaret). Boots is just a toddler, and is always curious about stuff like wires and buttons. So, one day when Gregor is switching over the laundry in their tiny Manhattan apartment, Boots falls into the vent behind the dryer. Gegor tries to pull her back into the room, but falls in also. Soon they meet giant cockroaches, bats, rats, and spiders, all the while fulfilling curious prophecies, saving their father who's missing, and making friends with violet-eyed, silver haired, pale-skinned people called the Underlanders.
It's fantasy, mystery, and fast-moving action for people who don't mind a couple of pages of fighting (isn't very gory though.)
Please give it a try!
